Amherst:Football Holds Annual Team Banquet
The UMass football team held its annual team banquet on Friday, Feb. 26 at the Campus Center. Senior wide receiver Victor Cruz was honored as a team MVP. Senior tackle Vladimir Ducasse was named the Outstanding Offensive Player while seniors Kyle Harrington and Jeromy Miles shared the top Defensive Player Award. Former star receiver Brandon London, who recently signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, spoke to the team as a guest speaker. (MORE)

Amherst:Ducasse Gains Rave Reviews At NFL Combine
UMass offensive lineman Vladimir Ducasse has been very impressive at the NFL Combine held in Indianapolis. The tackle, who could also play guard at the next level, garnered much attention from the NFL teams with his impressive numbers. He clocked in at 5.21 in the 40-yard dash and had 29 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press Saturday. (MORE)

Amherst:Frisco, Texas Selected As New Home For FCS Title Game
Frisco, Texas, has been selected as the new host site for the NCAA Division I Football Championship game. Frisco emerged from a pool of several cities that submitted bids to serve as the host site for the championship game for the next three years, beginning with the 2010 season. Hosted by the Southland Conference, the championship game will be played at Pizza Hut Park on Jan. 7, 2011. (MORE)

Amherst:Ducasse Set For NFL Combine This Weekend
Four former CAA Football standouts, including James Madison's Dorian Brooks and Arthur Moats, Massachusetts' Vladimir Ducasse and William and Mary's Adrian Tracy, will represent the league in this week's NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Ind. Television coverage, including workouts and behind-the-scenes footage from Lucas Oil Stadium, can be seen throughout the week and weekend on the NFL Network and NFL Network HD. (MORE)
