Amherst: Men's Swimming & Diving Announces Captains For 2010-11 Season
UMass men's swimming head coach Russ Yarworth has announced that rising seniors Dan Backler, Adam Duffield, and Brian Schmidt will serve as the swimming and diving team's tri-captains for the 2010-11 season. The three will lead the four-time defending Atlantic 10 Champion Minutemen as they look for their 13th conference title. (MORE)

Amherst: Men's Swimming Welcomes Nine Newcomers For 2010-2011
UMass men's swimming team announced that it will welcome nine new freshman to the 2010-2011 squad. The Minutemen will be looking to replace holes left by five departing seniors, as the team is coming off their fourth-straight Atlantic 10 Championship, and the 11th in 12 years. These nine new freshmen are in addition to Chris Inglis and Derek Hursch, who signed National Letters of Intent in the fall. (MORE)

Amherst: Swimming And Diving Holds Annual Awards Banquet
The UMass men's and women's swimming and diving teams celebrated their successful seasons last week with their annual team awards banquet, honoring its top performers for the season. The men's team celebrated their 12th Atlantic 10 title, while the women finished third overall in the conference. (MORE)

Amherst: Starosielec, Duffield Earn Academic All-Conference Honors
Junior Jessica Starosielec (Colonia, N.J.) of the UMass women's swim team and junior Adam Duffield (Brookfield, Conn.) of the UMass men's diving team were named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team as voted on by the A-10 sports information directors on Tuesday. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater in their entire academic careers to go along with outstanding performance in the pool. (MORE)
