Mar. 3, 2010Amherst:20 Rowers Named To A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Bernadette V. McGlade, Commissioner of the Atlantic 10, announced last week that 103 UMass student-athletes have been named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll following the Fall 2009 semester. Among those, 20 members of the rowing team were included on the list. To be an Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better. The A-10 named nearly 1,200 athletes to this list. (MORE)
Feb. 11, 2010Amherst:UMass Rowing Season Preview With a 13th Atlantic 10 title under its belt, the UMass Women's Rowing team is back in the driver's seat in the Atlantic 10 Conference heading into the 2010 season. The Minutewomen reclaimed the conference crown last season, defeating Rhode Island 141-117 while earning five gold medals and having four athletes named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams in the process. (MORE) Amherst:UMass Rowing Heads To Florida For Winter Training The UMass Rowing team will begin its pursuit of a 14th Atlantic 10 title when it travels to Deland, Florida for its annual winter training trip. The Minutewomen will be in the Sunshine State from January 6-16 in anticipation of the 2010 season. Head Coach Jim Dietz will have the Minutewomen on the St. John's River to work on speed and technique for the upcoming season. (MORE)
Nov. 24, 2009Amherst:Alexandra Daggy Signs NLI With UMass Rowing UMass Head Rowing Coach Jim Dietz announced Tuesday that Alexandra Daggy has signed a National Letter of Intent with Massachusetts. Daggy will join the Minutewomen for the 2011 season as a freshman.
