Amherst:Women's Soccer To Host Alumni Day
The UMass women's soccer program will welcome former Minutewomen back to campus this spring as the team will hold an Alumni Day on April 24. Following the Future Minutewomen Soccer Clinic, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Boyden Fields, an alumni game is slated for 11:30 to 12:30 on Rudd Field. (MORE)

Lowell:Ten River Hawks Tabbed to NE-10 Fall All-Academic Teams
Seniors Jamie Gillis (North Billerica, MA), Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) and Ryan Richards (Holden, MA) were among 10 UMass Lowell student-athletes named to the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Fall All-Academic teams, released Tuesday. (MORE)

Amherst:Faherty and Shiffler Join Women's Soccer Staff
Former New Haven head coach Brendan Faherty and Penn assistant Abby Shiffler have been named UMass women's soccer assistant coaches, head coach Ed Matz announced on Thursday. The duo will begin their first season on the Minutewomen sidelines with Matz in 2010. (MORE)

Amherst:FEATURE: Ed Matz Featured In The Boston Herald
Northeastern's loss is UMass' gain, as Ed Matz resigned his post as Huskies women's soccer coach last week to take over the Minutewomen. Matz, who was named coach of the year in the Colonial Athletic Association this past season, was introduced as the fifth women's coach in the history of the UMass program on Jan. 7. Matz hopes to reproduce and surpass at UMass the kind of success he enjoyed on Huntington Avenue. (MORE)
