Aug. 5, 2010Amherst:Newcomb To Ride In Pan-Mass Challenge For the third-straight year, UMass women's swimming head coach Bob Newcomb will be riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a bike-a-thon to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through The Jimmy Fund. The event begins on Aug. 8 in Sturbridge and concludes on Aug. 9 in Provincetown and 100 percent of all proceeds go to The Jimmy Fund. For more information, visit Bob's PMC webpage by clicking HERE. Jul. 21, 2010Amherst:Minutewomen Receive CSCAA All-Academic Team Award The UMass women's swimming and diving team has been named a 2009-10 All-Academic Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. Head coach Bob Newcomb and diving coach Mandy Hixon's Minutewomen had a 3.05 team GPA in the 2009-10 academic year. (MORE)
May. 14, 2010Amherst:A-10 SAAC GATHERS IN PITTSBURGH FOR ANNUAL MEETING The Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently gathered in Pittsburgh, Pa., for its annual meeting. The focus of the weekend was leadership and personal development, while engaging in meaningful dialogue on important issues that will impact student-athletes across the nation. Junior Jennifer Corriveau of the women's swimming team was the selection to represent all of the student-athletes from UMass as the leader of the school's SAAC chapter. (MORE)
